Prices for Interpreting Services

Interpreting costs per hour

Normal rate CHF 150.00, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

We reserve the right to deviate from the normal rate and to charge a lump sum.

Surcharges

Emergency operations within 24 hours on weekdays, night operations between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. as well as weekend and holiday operations will be charged with a surcharge of 50%. The surcharge of 50% also applies to the travel expenses.

Minimum stake

At least one hour will be charged per assignment. Each additional quarter of an hour will be rounded up to the next 15 minutes and invoiced accordingliy.

Refund

As a rule, we stick to the approach: booked time is owed time. A partial refund can be granted in the case of major deviations.

Waiting times

In the case of waiting times for which the interpreters are not to blame, the starting time of the assignment as previously booked shall prevail. If there are waiting times during the assignment for which the interpreters are not to blame, the entirely booked or performed attendance time will be charged.

Cancellation of assignments

Provided a period exceeding 48 hours is respected when a client cancels the previously booked assignment (excluding weekends and public holidays), the cancellation shall remain free of charge.

If an assignment is cancelled within 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) before the agreed date, the booked time will be charged according to the confirmed rate. In the event of cancellation of an assignment, travel expenses as well as transportation and subsistence expenses will not be charged, provided the journey to the place of assignment has not already begun.For cancellations of orders lasting more than 4 hours (even before the 48-hour deadline), the agency may charge a lump sum of up to 75% of the offer.

Travel expenses

CHF 120.00 will be charged per hour of effective travel time, outward and return journey, i.e., from place of residence of the interpreter to deployment location (calculated time either based on the Swiss Federal Railway schedule or Google Maps for a door-to-door trip). A minimum of one hour of travel time will be charged per assignment.

Transportation and subsistence expenses

The effective travel expenses (1st class public transport ticket with half-fare travelcard or CHF 0.70/km) will be charged. In the case of assignments lasting over 4 hours, a flat-rate meal fee of CHF 25.00 will be charged. In the case of all-day assignments, the lump sum for meals is equal to CHF 50.00.

Prices for Translation Services

juslingua AG will only prepare binding offers once the documents to be translated have been reviewed. Prices for translations depend on the scope, degree of difficulty, area of expertise, language group, intended use and delivery deadlines.

The price for translations is calculated on the basis of a so-called standard page consisting of 1’800 characters (including spaces) of the target text.

Translation

The price per standard page for a text of average difficulty is CHF 150.00.

Surcharges

Surcharges may be claimed in the following cases:

  • Express deliveries (up to 50%, depending on the urgency).
  • Target texts are not written in latin letters (e.g. Arabic, Chinese, Cyrillic).
  • Translations that have to be done on weekends / public holidays (up to 50%).

Additional services in connection with the translation

Additional services in connection with the translation, such as special formatting, data conversion, desktop publishing, etc., will be charged at CHF 150.00 per hour on a time and material basis.

Review of documents and selection of documents suitable for translation shall amount to CHF 150.00 per hour.

Proofreading amounts to CHF 150.00 per hour.

Consulting services in connection with translations amount to CHF 150.00 per hour.

Certification expenses

Expenses for certified translations (regardless of the number of documents) shall amount to CHF 120.00, plus cash expenses for the notary’s office.

Expenses for the legalization of certified translations (so-called apostille) by the state chancellery (regardless of the number of documents) shall amount to CHF 120.00, plus cash expenses for the state chancellery.

Translations (written)

Thanks to the accreditation of our translators, we are capable of having all translations certified by a notary and, if need be, obtain the corresponding apostille for use of your translated document abroad.

Interpreting services (oral)

for meetings of legal relevance, notarial authentications, civil matters, arbitration proceedings, administrative proceedings, in dealing with authorities, medical and psychological assessments (in particular for the disability insurance (IV) and the Swiss SUVA), in dealing with impaired driving declarations and aptitude tests, etc.
